Glitz Campaign Is A Program That Falls Under Glitz Magazine Where We Bring Young Women From The Ages 16 to 21 To Talk About Issues They Encounter On Their Day To Day.We Talk About Issues Such As Teenage Pregnancy,Peer Pressure,Mental Health Awareness,Career Assperation,Dating,Sex ETC.We Understand That There Are Paerents Who Shy Away From Having These Discussions With Their Children Because They Feel In Having these Conversations With Them they would Be Encouraging The Act(s)When In Actual Fact Most Of These Children Have Already Started Being Sexually Active, We Often Hear The Statement “Prevention Is Better Than Cure” Which Is Where We Come In To Have These Discussions And To Create A Healthy Environment Where These Young Women Can Talk To Us About Any Situation They Are In And We Can Assist The Best Way We Know How.
Reason We Started This Movement Is We Realized There Aren’t A Lot Of Safe Spaces Where Young Women Can Participate In Character Building And creating A Positive Sisterhood Which Then Leads Young Women Into Substance Abuse As A Coping Merchniim As Opposed To Communicating Their Situation.We Give These Young Women Hope To Say It Doesn’t Matter What Background You Come From You Can Be The Difference,You Can Change The Narrative And Discuss Solutions On How They Think They Can Make Their Lives Better And Implement Action Plans.
We Have Group Get Togethers Weekly To Dicuss How Their Week Was What Challenges They Expirenced And How They Overcame them,We Also Take Them On Day Educational Or Fun Trips Filled With Fun Activities Where They Get To Learn,Sing,Dance And Recieve Gifts At The End Of The Day.
