I am Jane Noria Chulu born and raised in Lusaka, Zambia and I have lived here all my life. I am the first born in a family of three girls, am turning 27 this year and lost my mum in 2014, since then it’s been me, my dad and two sisters against the world.
I got into radio before television, way back during the International Children’s Day broadcasting which happened once a year, I would have a feel and a taste of being on radio. I don’t believe I was any good at it at the time but I enjoyed it and it has been my passion ever since, with time I switched from radio to television which has been a very great experience and a great learning point.

Am currently working with a new television station called Beats TV, it’s local entertainment and content centered. I currently have two shows, one is called “Kuno kwatu ” meaning in our area. The other is more of a reality show, discussing deep and personal issues affecting people in our society and it’s called Pa Nsaka ( I don’t have a straight forward translation for it but , you know how in communities people sit and gather around to discuss issues ?) That entire arrangement is called Pa Nsaka in Nyanja. I plan on going back to radio once I figure out how to juggle the two.

The biggest downfall of being in the entertainment industry is that there’s a certain image or persona that you create in people’s minds, that’s so far from who you truly are as a person, people tend not to see the human side of you, but the TV or radio person.
My biggest highlight thus far is that last year I was contacted by an Indian owned agriculture company to help host the launch of one of their new branches, and the event was attended by key stakeholders, government officials and even The European Union Ambassador to Zambia. It was a humbling experience, my recent one is I recently interviewed and hosted one of the biggest artist in Zambia “Yo maps” along with great artists in our music industry. But there’s more to come, I can feel it!

My future aspirations other than being a presenter, a host and an MC I’m a great voice over artist and newscaster. The end game to all this would be to work for BBC (fingers crossed), but to also collaborate with the likes of Toke Makinwa from Nigeria, Ellen DeGeneres and of course the legendary Oprah Winfrey just to mention a few.
