Wholehearted is more than an artist name, it’s a declaration! Beyond the music, he is a son, a father, and a husband-to-be, preparing to marry on November 14th. He is from Albany, Georgia, a place that shaped him in quiet but powerful ways. South Georgia offered balance: not the relentless speed of a major city, but not the stillness of deep rural life either. That in-between space formed a man who can adapt, adjust, and thrive wherever he stands and that adaptability lives in his music.
Wholehearted’s introduction to music was almost accidental. He accompanied his older brother to a recording session and ended up on a track as a joke. The joke didn’t land, because he fell in love with the process. With a childhood background in poetry, he had a natural command of words. But music didn’t become sacred until tragedy reshaped it.
When his father passed away, everything changed. His father, a preacher and his biggest supporter, was someone people stopped and listened to. That presence left an imprint. Music became Wholehearted’s pulpit. A place to talk to his father, a place to release emotion. A place to honor the craft his father believed in and now, every verse carries weight.
Wholehearted describes his sound as “southern slang to the ear,” but layered with message and meaning. It’s lyrical yet rhythmic, something you can nod to, but also sit with. He moves between melodic tones that reach the soul and hard-hitting bars that challenge the mind. Primarily rooted in Rap and Hip Hop, genres that best reflect his upbringing, he recently stepped into new territory with his single Georgia Streets, blending Country elements to capture the full spectrum of Georgia life, because Georgia isn’t one story, it’s many.
Georgia Streets is deeply personal. It was created to bridge the gap between city life and rural South Georgia, to unite the state through sound. But beneath that mission lies something more intimate. It speaks to those who left him behind during his journey, a reminder that the drive forged in Georgia soil kept him grounded and focused for Wholehearted, the song represents survival.
Albany has witnessed history, from Martin Luther King Jr. marching its streets to being the birthplace of Ray Charles. That legacy matters! Like the icons who came before him, Wholehearted sees Georgia as resilient, tested, but unbroken and personally, the song taught him something vital: how to take nothing and turn it into everything.
In contrast, Baking Soda or Coke carries a different tone. It’s a mind-clearer. A release. The track is about letting negativity out to make room for creativity. It’s venting through rhythm, lyrical, honest, but still something you can move to. Even when clearing the air, Wholehearted keeps the beat alive because for him, emotion and energy coexist.
Wholehearted doesn’t see emotional honesty as vulnerability. To him, authenticity is power. He believes that when you release something real, people connect organically. Shared experiences build bridges. When he opens up about his own pain, struggle, and growth, his music becomes someone else’s release too, he doesn’t aim to appear larger than life, he wants listeners to know he’s right there with them, on the frontline.
The loss of his father remains the most defining turning point in his life and artistry, watching his father preach taught him something profound: when the message is real, people listen. That realization shaped his own ambition because he wants his words to hold that same gravity, that same stillness in a room.
“When I open my mouth,” he implies, “it should feel like magic, because what I’m saying is real.” Most of his songs begin with lyrics, strong, intentional, drawing the listener in before delivering the hook. There are big things in store. I have reached a new level with my sound, working with my producers and engineers, DNA (Daniel and Adam). 2026 is going to be a breakout year for Wholehearted.
