Bonga Fipaza popularly known as Young BD, is 19 year old hip hop/rap artist from Cardiff, Wales. He mainly enjoys music as one of his hobbies but apart from music, he enjoys keeping fit and playing sports such as basketball or football.
“I first started writing tracks back in 2019, when I was about 14” says Bonga. I’ve always been a fan of music, especially Hip-Hop, so I would go to my friend’s house and we would sit for hours free-styling to beats on YouTube. After practicing with my flows and bars I started writing full tracks to further develop my music skills. I would only start taking it seriously around 2021, a couple years down the line and I am an artist, releasing music for everyone to listen to.
As a songwriter when I write, I mainly think of my life experiences which have a lot of influence into what I put into my music, and I hope the message my audience takes away from my music is “If you really put your mind to a goal then it’s never going to be impossible, just inevitable”. Other than that I would say I’m also thinking about my goals and accomplishments that I would like to achieve in the near future.
My aspirations are the same as most artists I guess, which are to create a name for myself globally, as well as create art for people to listen to and watch. I am very certain that these things will happen throughout my career.
As for how I deal with critics, I don’t take hate or criticism to the heart. If it’s genuine hate, it just fuels me to make my music even better so that I can prove people wrong. I am also open to genuine feedback if people are keen in providing it.
Anything you are currently working on which you would love for our readers to know about?
I’ve got a lot of unreleased tracks that I’m very excited about releasing and letting the public listen to. Some of these songs have had time put into them to make them as best as possible. I’m also keen on doing some music videos for my upcoming releases, and adding features with other artists.
