Kaykaybarz is a thrill seeking, spirit lifting rapper from Perris, California. The stage name Kaykaybarz  was given to her by her friend who heard her rap and suggested she adds bars at the end, and it just stuck.

“Crazy to say my music journey started before I was even born” Said Kay.  It was destiny for me to be a hip-hop artist, I know certain things can be genetically passed down and I believe talent is one of them. My dad was a singer, songwriter and rapper and his daughters end up being rappers and singers. How ironic!

I’m a songwriter as well and my writing process is, I like to clear my mind, recharge my energy and start from a creative place that is different from the last. I like to create sounds and every time I’m in the studio I’m always re- creating myself, because I want my music to translate, vulnerability, realness and unique talent. I also want to create my own lane and allow people to follow my blueprint.

Thus far I have collaborated with the likes of the iconic Miss Toy who is a legendary Los Angeles rapper and was on the hit single “you can do it “. I actually did that when I was 16 and my mom would always play the role of my manager. May she rest in peace!

The biggest misconception of being in the hip-hop game is that I’m into promoting violence or selling narcotics when that’s not it at all. My representation of hip-hop is the good, the bad and the ugly but I still want it to be a learning experience or an entertaining story.

Tell us about the song “Remember Me” What inspired the song?

The song “Remember Me” is a lyrical expression of me coming back to the hip-hop game after a long hiatus lol hint remember me?

My highlight to date would definitely have to be embracing and joining the battle rap scene and being a part of Queen of the Ring LA, which is an all female URL a top battle wrap league in New York to work with some very battle rap artist. As for handling critics, I’m so tough skinned, but I also take it as opportunity for growth. If it’s something that I am able to learn from and expand myself as an artist or an overall person I’ll take it.
