Life has a way of testing us, sometimes brutally, and few stories embody that truth as vividly as Soncier’s. Growing up a military brat between Cincinnati, Southeast D.C., and Prince George’s County, Maryland, Soncier navigated a childhood marked by constant movement, family separations, and life-defining choices. “At one point, I was stabbed in an altercation and almost paralyzed,” he recalls. “By the grace of God, I survived. That moment changed me forever. I felt like I’d been given a second chance, like I had a superpower.” It was that second chance that would become the driving force behind his music and his mission: harnessing his gift to advocate positivity and purpose.
Soncier’s artistry is rooted deeply in a musical lineage. With Herbie Hancock as a cousin, a musically inclined father who ran his own record label, a multi-instrumentalist sister, and a brother introducing him to East Coast rap, Soncier’s foundation was rich and eclectic. “I wrote poetry in elementary school, freestyled in cyphers, and performed at talent shows. Music was always in me, I just had to grow into it.” Guided by childhood friend Noya, he learned to structure songs with melodic hooks, bridging edgy street poetry with R&B sensibilities, a combination that would define his signature sound.

Soncier’s style fuses 90s nostalgia and boom-bap energy with contemporary sounds and storytelling, a genre he describes as “modern classic.” Every track is imbued with lyricism, emotion, and purpose, anchored by his mantra: “Positive is the new cool.” His music resonates with listeners who’ve navigated tough neighborhoods but sought a different path, the ones who strive to rise above negativity while staying true to themselves.
Among his catalog, “The Hyro (Hero) Reborn” stands out as Soncier’s personal favorite, a powerful anthem of resilience and transformation. “It’s heroic, revolutionary, and powerful. It captures everything I stand for: lyricism, melody, impact, and purpose,” he shares. His creative process is intuitive and spiritual: inspiration flows from the cosmos, freewriting ideas until every line carries weight, ensuring listeners feel every word.
Winning BET’s Beats & Bars 2023, powered by Nissan, marked a milestone in Soncier’s journey. Performing at the BET Hip-Hop Awards on the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, before Kid Capri and hosted by Fat Joe, he represented his city and culture on a national stage. “It was surreal,” he reflects. “Beyond the accolade, it taught me how to bridge corporate and culture, how hip-hop can exist in those spaces without losing its authenticity.”

Soncier’s vision extends beyond music. His wellness brand, Plantz N Vibez, merges health-conscious lifestyle content with entertainment and culture, creating a space for self-awareness, growth, and community engagement. “Our mission is ‘Let’s Do, let’s do better,'” he says. “It’s about promoting healthier lifestyles and making growth fun and approachable for everyone.”
Soncier’s goals are as ambitious as they are inspiring. He aims to build songwriting camps to empower young artists, restore the soul of hip-hop, and create music that heals, educates, and unites. “Every time I create, it’s like tapping into my purpose again,” he says. For Soncier, music isn’t just art, it’s a movement.
From surviving near-death to winning national acclaim, Soncier’s journey is one of resilience, authenticity, and revolution. With each track, he not only uplifts the culture but also inspires listeners to rise above their circumstances, embrace their gifts, and live with purpose.
