Hailing from Delta State, Nigeria, Ehfena is a singer, songwriter, and composer whose artistry is rooted in curiosity and the human experience. What began as a fascination with how people create and connect through music soon evolved into a personal love affair with sound, storytelling, and self-expression.
“I started making music out of curiosity,” she shares. “I was fascinated by the way people were able to create and make something out of nothing, with the hopes of people actually connecting with it. It inspired me so much that I fell in love with the art of music as a whole.”
Ehfena describes her sound as “storytelling wrapped in rhythm.” She draws from a vibrant palette of genres, Afropop, Afrobeats, House, and Afrofusion, calling herself genre-fluid and fearless in the way she blends styles to evoke feeling.
Her debut single “Attention” is a striking reflection of that approach. Raw, vulnerable, and tender, the track is more than a song; it’s a heartfelt letter to herself. “When I wrote Attention, I was really in a dark place,” she admits. “It was an assurance that wrote itself. The words came on their own, and I just flowed with it.”
The message? That self-love is essential, and everyone deserves good things. “It’s a song of reassurance,” she adds. “A reminder that you are worthy.”
Her creative process is led by feeling. Whether it’s a lyric, a melody, or the quiet power of a beat, Ehfena lets the emotion take the lead. “I record voice notes, I write, I let the emotion guide me,” she says. “Then I imagine the people I’m singing for, the ones who will relate to the song.”
The joy of watching “Attention” come to life was profound for Ehfena. “Recording it felt like therapy,” she reflects. “The challenge was being so emotionally honest, letting go, and trusting the process. But honestly, the song just did her thing.”
Through her music, Ehfena hopes to be a source of comfort. “I want people to feel seen. Whether someone is in love, heartbroken, healing, or simply feeling, I want my music to wrap around them like a gentle hand on the shoulder. Softness is strength, and I want people to remember that.”
Looking ahead, she’s focused on creating music that dives even deeper, reaching new hearts across international stages. Her dream includes collaborations with artists who move souls, and eventually building a safe creative space for young artists to grow.
At the heart of it all is gratitude. “My family and close friends have been a pillar of love,” she says. “They remind me who I am when I forget. And my supporters, every message, every share, every kind word they matter more than they know. It’s their belief in me that keeps me pushing forward.”
Are you working on any new projects that we can look forward to?
Absolutely! I’m currently working on visuals for “Attention”, and I have more singles coming that explore different shades of vulnerability, strength, and love. Each song is a piece of my heart masked in new sounds.I’m also preparing my debut project,it’s still blossoming, but it’s coming.
