Moon: Designed To Support Hormonal Health Through Consistency, Nourishment, And Pleasure

Bonny M | January 23, 2026

Moon was not born from trend forecasting or market gaps. It emerged from a moment of rupture, a time when joy felt distant, identity was constrained, and the body began to speak through exhaustion, stress, and silence. For its founder Adheema Davis, Moon became a way back to herself.

A lifelong creative, maker, and sharer, Adheema found herself navigating a period of profound personal trauma shaped by toxic workplace culture, bullying, and harassment. Extended leave for mental health brought with it long, quiet days at home, and the realisation that the rituals and creative practices that once brought joy had disappeared. In their place was a question: How do I regain agency over my body, my health, and my sense of self? Moon was the answer.

What began as a personal promise, to create something every day, to reconnect with pleasure, nourishment, and meaning evolved into a brand rooted in food as medicine and creativity as healing. Learning about hormonal health through therapy and research, she turned inward, focusing on what she could control. What she put into her body became an act of reclamation.

At the peak of her trauma, she lost her menstrual cycle, a frightening experience that brought both fear and clarity. Unwilling to take hormonal contraceptives to regulate her period, she began researching natural alternatives and discovered seed cycling. The practice resonated: gentle, cyclical, and rooted in listening to the body rather than overriding it.

Dark chocolate followed naturally, not as indulgence for indulgence’s sake, but as intuition. Cravings became communication. Nutrient deficiencies became information. In her kitchen, she began experimenting: seeds, nuts, goji berries folded into rich dark chocolate, crafted by hand, taste-tested by a very willing partner. What emerged was something rare, a product that was nourishing, pleasurable, and deeply personal. Something she could protect and have agency over when so much else felt out of control.

Moon is not about quick fixes or idealised versions of wellness. It exists for women who are tired of being told to optimise themselves into exhaustion. Women who are unlearning rigid expectations and seeking ways to live more authentically, gently, and consciously. The brand fills a gap not just in product, but in language, speaking to women who want something ethical, accessible, culturally rooted, and free from unpronounceable ingredients and corporate exploitation.

Rooted in holistic traditions, Moon draws from indigenous, Unani, tayyib, and Ayurvedic wisdoms, not as trends, but as inheritances. As a woman of colour, a Muslim, politically Black woman with mixed heritage, the founder grew up with home remedies, backyard medicines, and spiced drinks trusted across generations. Moon honours that lineage, recognising that ancient wisdoms share a common foundation: respect for the land, intention in preparation, and faith in food as a source of healing.

Moon’s products are designed to support hormonal health through consistency, nourishment, and pleasure. Seed cycling provides essential fatty acids, fibre, plant-based protein, and phytoestrogens to help regulate cycles, ease PMS, and support digestion. Dark chocolate offers magnesium, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory benefits that relax the body, reduce cramping, and support mental health. Ingredients like maca root enhance energy, fertility, and cognitive health, while goji berries deliver vitamin C and glow-boosting antioxidants.

The results speak softly but powerfully. Customers report reduced cramps, eased hormonal headaches, improved sleep, diminished brain fog, and an unexpected return of lightness and joy, not through pills or powders, but through decadent, satisfying treats that integrate seamlessly into daily life.

Moon’s most loved offerings reflect this philosophy. The Goji Berry Dark Chocolates balance silky richness with a tart, vibrant edge. The truffles lean fully into indulgence, offering a sensorial experience that feels both grounding and celebratory, wellness without deprivation.

Behind the brand is a mind shaped by architecture and academia, disciplines rooted in research, structure, and intention. These skills inform Moon’s thoughtful design, formulation, and philosophy. Building Moon with no capital required creativity, patience, and deep trust in its purpose. Starting small became an act of faith rather than limitation.

Ethical sourcing is non-negotiable. Ingredients are carefully researched and selected, with a strong emphasis on local suppliers and shared values, a reflection of environmental responsibility and spiritual accountability.

Looking forward, Moon is envisioned as more than a product range. There are dreams of a physical sanctuary, a space for nourishment, movement, and rest. New offerings like Blush Tea, a floral, hormone-supporting infusion, and an enriched Mmmaca cacao drink with collagen speak to Moon’s evolving richness. The upcoming Cycle Syncing Guide promises to extend Moon’s ethos into education, offering women tools to live in rhythm with their bodies.

At its heart, Moon is about womanhood, not as performance, but as embodiment. In this season of slowing down, womanhood feels like a gift. A refusal of hustle culture. A choosing of authenticity over productivity. A belief that there are other ways of living, creating, and healing, ways that allow us all to be more free.

Moon does not ask women to fix themselves, it invites them to listen, to soften, and to come home to their bodies one ritual, one cycle, one piece of chocolate at a time.

Looking ahead, what do you hope Moon offers women not just as a product, but as a philosophy or way of being?

To truly embrace every cycle, every season, and every phase of life – we don’t need to rush and chase the next thing constantly. Why not afford ourselves the joy of loving where we are? Simply, with consciousness for a better world starting with ourselves and the choices that we make. I feel so grateful for the experiences that have led me here, and am trusting that this next season will bring unfathomable bounty – in time with loved ones, in making home, in learning and growing with incredible women around me through Moon. Insha’Allah – God willing, for us all!
