At just 23 years old, Katelynn King is already carving a unique space in the alt-pop and alt-rock world. Born in Marietta, Georgia, and raised in Cartersville, her roots run deep in the music she grew up around. With parents who primarily listened to rock, it’s no wonder her sound blends powerful rock undertones with contemporary pop sensibilities.
“I’ve been into music since I was 8,” Katelynn shares. “I just recently got more serious about it, and I released my first album in May 2025.” Her journey into the studio wasn’t entirely planned, a broken phone headphone jack forced her hand. “It was a blessing in disguise,” she laughs. “That moment pushed me to finally dive into professional recording, and I haven’t looked back.”

Katelynn’s sound is a fusion of alt-pop and alt-rock, weaving influences from James Arthur’s heartfelt pop to the intensity of Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin, topped with Evanescence-inspired vocals. “I like my music to reflect my life,” she explains. “There’s no single message, it’s my story, my emotions, my experiences, hoping people can relate.”
Her latest project, Mort D’Amour, is deeply personal. “This project was inspired by heartbreak and my life in general,” she says. Among the tracks, “Si(rens)lence” stands out as a personal favorite. “I went really in-depth with the lyrics on that one and worked with my favorite engineer. It’s very important to me.”

The creative process, for Katelynn, is fueled by real emotion. “I can always make music, but my best songs come when I’m inspired,” she says. “Going through experiences creates the energy that brings the music to life.” Her upcoming single, Would U Run?, promises to continue this trend. “It’s a catastrophic story about the world ending and wondering if the person you’re with will stay until the end, or run. It’s my favorite piece to date.”
Fans play a central role in Katelynn’s journey. “I connect with people because I’m vulnerable and honest,” she explains. “They feel the realness in what I share, and that connection is everything.” One of her most memorable career highlights was working on the music video for Night Crawls with Mark Kahn of Sick Century. “We shot the video on my iPhone in just a few hours, in a city I had never been to, it was an unforgettable experience.”

Katelynn’s music is available on all platforms under her name, offering something for every listener, from sad pop to sexy pop/R&B, and even soft metal rock. With a fresh album, a highly anticipated single, and a growing fan base, Katelynn King is an artist whose honesty, passion, and raw talent promise to leave a lasting mark on the music scene.
