The creation of Benguela bags draws inspiration from the South African woman, one who is strong yet soft, she has a need for functionality and practicality, yet she can be bright and bold and is not afraid to show her colours, says founder. The Benguela woman is one who treads lightly in our natural world she explores, cares, creates, moves and dances. She also seeks to sustain, protect and uplift.
Our familys love for all things South Africa, ensuring and protecting our natural heritage is what drives our passion for the outdoors, founder added. We wanted to create a bag that fits in seamlessly with the South African woman’s life. For this reason we have partnered with Breathe Ocean Conservation, an NPO that seeks to educate and create awareness of marine conservation as an annual event prize sponsor.
Each bag is created with multifunctionality and comfort in mind. Knowing how diverse the South African woman is, we chose designs which are equally diverse in colour and prints.
Our popular Timeless Tote bags for instance were designed ensuring spaciousness with key features such as a removable interior base, a clip-on purse and magnetic clips ensuring adequate expansion in size depending on purpose. The sleek fit of our Urban slings were designed to move with you, the adjustable straps allowing for freedom of movement and individual comfort.
