Ryan Hopkins | October 1, 2024

Brande Pa’trice is an American Pop/Rap recording artist, pianist, and songwriter from Memphis, TN. She started dancing and singing at the age of 3/4.

I’ve been dancing my entire life” said Brande.  Dance is what pulls and keeps everything together, it is the centre of my life. MC Hammer is one of my greatest inspirations and I have never seen anyone who can take his place. His energy and consistency is very much emulated on my behalf.

My journey started with me putting on shows for my family as a toddler. Always being asked to dance, andI have to thank my grandmother Freda Dabney for keeping and allowing me to be myself while pushing me forward to “show off”. At the age of 5, I became an unstoppable force and knew exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

As I had mentioned, I am a songwriter and I normally produce the beat or composition first and then freestyle my hooks and verses. I rarely write anything! I love singing and recording from my heart. After I complete that part of my process, I go back and write what I said to clean it up.

Tell us about your latest single “Band Aid Love” what inspired the song ?

Band-Aid Love is a song from the Headaches and Heartbreaks album. Band-Aid Love touches on themes of emotional healing and navigating the complexities of relationships. The metaphor of a “Band-Aid” suggests trying to cover up emotional pain temporarily, while the deeper issues remain unresolved. It explores the push and pull of love, where surface-level fixes aren’t enough to heal deeper wounds.

The project also blends genres and comes in multiple versions like EDM, New Orleans Bounce, and Acapella. There are also radio edits of these versions, showcasing the track’s versatility and appeal across different musical tastes.

Through my music I want the audience to understand that they are not alone and we are all special. It’s perfectly fine to be different and confident in yourself, the one thing I am graciously working on is being confidently different consistently!

To be confidently yourself on a consistent basis is a lifestyle I have adopted and plan on being very successful with. Also, my gratitude for my audience is extremely huge and I don’t want them to ever give up on me. As for How do I deal with critics? I don’t deal with critics. They deal with me! Next question. lol
