At just 24 years old, Alixia Mistral is already carving a unique path in the music world, blending neo-soul, RnB, jazz, funk, and Afrobeat into a sound that is both honest and infectious. But beyond the notes and melodies lies a story of personal growth, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to truth.
Born in the charming town of Forlì, Italy, to a French-Guadeloupean father and Italian mother, Alixia’s childhood was steeped in music and warmth. “My dad was my first and biggest influence,” she shares, recalling nights soothed by the voices of Toni Braxton and Whitney Houston. Her parents’ dedication to education and support for her artistic endeavors planted early seeds of confidence.
Music was more than background noise, it became a refuge and a mirror. Writing songs from age 16, Alixia discovered an authentic way to process feelings and experiences. “When I write, there’s no one else, just my mind,” she explains. This honesty in songwriting helped her unlock hidden parts of herself and share them with the world.
Her single The Way You Move captures the thrill and tension of a workplace romance, an upbeat yet bittersweet narrative about navigating love where it’s least expected. “I love a good drama,” Alixia laughs. The song’s lively rhythm echoes the exhilaration of infatuation, while its lyrics reveal the complicated realities the lovers face.
Despite a cheerful exterior, Alixia’s journey has not been without its hurdles. Facing doubt from loved ones who feared the music industry’s toll on her, she confronted insecurities head-on. Therapy and supportive mentors gave her tools to overcome those challenges. “Going on stage with more experienced artists was a rough reality check,” she admits. Yet, it was precisely this confrontation that fueled her growth.
Alixia’s live performances brim with infectious energy and genuine warmth. “I want people to feel welcomed by my energy,” she says. She writes not only for herself but hopes to resonate with listeners who find familiarity and comfort in her songs. Her music is a celebration of sincerity, spontaneity, and self-awareness.
Currently studying jazz at Bologna’s prestigious conservatory and finishing her translation degree, Alixia balances her academic pursuits with her musical career. She’s actively building her live show and preparing to release a full album next year. With each step, she’s determined to deepen her artistry and impact.
When asked about her legacy, Alixia humbly admits it’s a question for the future. For now, she’s focused on growing, learning, and sharing her truth through every note and lyric. “I hope people just like my music.
